“ As they say in German - "Wunderbar!!!" The ambiance takes me back when I had visited Germany. The setting and layout is your typical feel as if you were in Germany at one of their local bars. Wooden floors, wooden tables, even the bar is entirely wood. Fully stocked. This spot is one of the oldest German bars in Williamsburg. Fantastic German restaurant to have a beer and relax. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Friday afternoon and decided to grab a few beers with friends. Wasn't that busy. Yet. Grabbed a few pitchers and ordered food. The food and beer were the best part of the entire experience. According to my friends, absolutely amazing sausage and house made dipping sauces. If you are reading this review, you should definitely go here for the best German beer. If you are looking for a great bee spot, great environment, and food stop by. ”
“ If you want to go to an authentic beer garden and have a great time, this is the place to be. Don't expect fancy decor, it's not a French bistro. The decor represents what it is supposed to be. There is a lot of history and its authentic. You go for the beer, the food, and the atmosphere. There is a lot of bench seating without cushions so it's not your typical restaurant. I just wanted everyone reading this to be prepared. You have to go in with an open mind. I came here with a friend of mine that I know since about the fourth grade. It's loud, so be ready. The staff were very courteous and made great recommendation's. They have more than a dozen beers on tap and you can get them in three different sizes. The small is pretty big, probably 12 to 16 ounces. They have more than a dozen bottled beers, cocktails, wines and can probably make any drink you want. Prices are very reasonable, especially for Williamsburg. There are two sides to the food portion of the menu. You have the dinner items on the left. You order those from your server and they will bring them to you. On the right side of the menu are the grill items. You have to go get up and order those from the grill area in the back of the restaurant. All the food had great taste. We wanted to sample as much variety as we could. There were four of us and we ordered the borscht soup, French onion soup, potato latkes, truffle mushroom flatbread, German potato salad, venison sausage, burger, beer fries, and Veal Schnitzel which comes with sides. For drinks we had the 2.5 liter Weihenstephaner Helles beer, the Stiegel Goldbeau beer, DAB, and Moscow mules. Our waitress was from Venezuela and was great. I'm sorry I did not catch her name. I would highly recommend them if you want to just dive into the beer and bar experience. ”
“ I was in Williamsburg shopping and went to get back on the L to Manhattan but the transit Gods for some reason shut the line down. Since I was hungry I wandered into Radegast's for lunch. It was a Tuesday early afternoon and the place was deathly quiet. Since I was by myself I took a seat at the bar. The bartender handed me a menu and a glass of water and explained how service went. I ordered a glass of Gruner Veltliner because even though it was a beer garden Gruner is my favorite wine. I ordered a beet salad for lunch. Since it was so quiet Matt, the bartender, and I got into a chat and it turns out that we both hail from upstate NY. The wine was great, the salad was fantastic and Matt was a doll. If I ever find myself back in Williamsburg I'll stop again. ”
“ We come here regularly on the weekends. They have great brass band performances and it's usually a lively crowd. Their beers are reliably delicious. Their pretzels are soft with great cheese and mustard dips. Their bratwurst and fries are also delicious. ”
“ Must visit place for drinks and nice hangouts! Vibe is very German and near holiday season it is kind of cute. Their sausages are amazing you cannot go wrong with any. Place is beer garden and live music spot all mashed together! Great place for happy hour and friendly hangouts! ”
“ Radagast Hall and Biergarten is and always will be a New York, German beer hall staple for me. Located in North Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, I've been going to this location on and off for more than 20 years and it has never disappointed. The space is incredibly large with a good size bar in one room where they play live music and have a couple built-in sit down tables, an additional large hall area with picnic benches and a grill for food, and a separate back room with a stove fireplace capable of being booked out for smaller parties. During the day the vibe is joyful and you have tons of natural light. During the night the lighting is muted golden, and a great spot for date nights, as well as large groups and holidays. Food is excellent German beer hall style with fresh sauerkraut, tons of mustard options, thick, delicious sausages, and a variety of other food served, including hamburgers for the faint of heart. Beer selection is extensive and delicious with a focus on that German/European beer style. Every time I live in New York or visit New York, I come to Radagast. Stay open forever! I love you. ”
“ Solid solid brats. Split a pint with your friend and you won't be disappointed. Can get loud sometimes, but thankfully there's a lot of space inside, felt like I was in Harry Potter. ”
“ This is a great hangout spot with colleagues, friends, semi large groups! The service, zeee nom noms, and the mellow tones really gives you that chill vibes. Be warn it's semi dark in there so reading the menu can be slightly a challenge. Overall their kitchen staff made the best noms I've eaten. THe chops! Oh man! Juicy as juicy can be! Heads up it takes time for them to make it so definitely put it in if you're not planning to stay too long. As for there grill side of the place where you have to order separately from the bar/kitchen. I definitely recommend. The Kielbasa, frankford, and Bratwurst is oh so good! Forget the bun! Just do the sampler! Their house mustard is also devine! Not too tart, very smooth, and rich textures. Their burgers were on point! The grill man knows what's he's doing! I definitely recommend this spot. It's a great summers hangout. If you're feeling hot inside got AC. If you feeling for some just warm weathers they have a semi open out seating by the grill man! ”
“ We came here for a group dinner on a Friday night. It was not too packed which was a relief. We had a large table for 15 people. They were showing the Euro Cup on the screen which a good number of people came for. At nine they had a live band performing. They were very talented and put on a great show. The crowd did get larger as the night went on. People were dancing on the floor and having a good time. It did not get super overcrowded as I read in previous reviews. Maybe it was a slow night but everything there seemed reasonable. We had a large party so we were able to try out the different kinds of beer. They have a large variety so you can go from light to dark quickly. They have a .5 liter size to a full liter. There were several cocktails available as well. If you wanted to order something from the grill you had to go up and order there separately. We ordered the sausage platter which gave your choice of three options. This was good to try the different sausages at one time. They were cooked well and tasted great. The other patrons ordered some of the appetizers and burgers which were great as well. I have never been to Germany but I assume this is what it tastes like. Overall it was a chill night. I haven't spent much time in Williamsburg but it seems like a great location to be in. ”
